Researcher Profile

Ronny Brendel

Bio

Ronny spent most of his professional life researching and developing HPC-focused software performance analysis solutions. He worked on all parts of the analysis tool stack developed by TU Dresden and its partners, including the trace visualizer Vampir, the OTF trace file format specification and library, as well as the VampirTrace and Score-P performance measurement infrastructures. After earning his master's degree in Computer Science in 2015, Ronny joined Oak Ridge National Laboratory to help its HPC users bring their applications up to speed and scale.

The main goal of Ronny's research is providing HPC developers better insight into the performance characteristics of their applications. For this he focuses on visual and computational scalability as well as advanced comparative techniques.
