CSAT Cloud Migration Team Creates Pulse Secure© SSL VPN Cluster in AWS© Environment

Achievement

After working closely with Pulse Secure© support engineers for several weeks, the Chemical Security Assessment Tool (CSAT) cloud migration team successfully created a Connect Secure© Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Virtual Private Network (VPN) cluster across two Amazon Web Services© (AWS©) availability zones in the CSAT test environment on January 16. The effort was led by CSAT network engineer Shawn Brown, with additional contributions from cloud architect Todd Thomas and Team Lead Brad Nance. Connect Secure© is the backbone of the architecture providing secure access to the web portals supporting the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Chemical Facility Anti-terrorism Standards (CFATS). The technical issues that were resolved had percolated all the way up to the Pulse Secure Chief Executive Officer and were given top priority. This achievement is the cornerstone for the completion of CSAT’s migration to the cloud.
