Jiaxin Zhang is a research staff in Computer Science and Mathematics Division (CSMD) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Prior to being a research staff, he was a postdoctoral fellow in the Scientific Computing Group within the National Center for Computational Science (NCCS) at ORNL. He received his Ph.D. in Civil and Systems Engineering and a dual M.S. in Applied Mathematics & Statistics from Johns Hopkins University in 2018. He then joined ORNL as a postdoc in the Scientific Computing Group in National Center for Computational Science (NCCS) at ORNL.
Jiaxin Zhang's research broadly revolves around machine learning/AI, uncertainty quantification, computational design, and optimization for advanced materials, mechanical and robotic systems. His research strives to fulfill that improvement of analyzing and designing intelligent, autonomous, and robust engineering systems, by developing a computationally efficient and unified framework that can offer valuable insight.
