Researcher Profile

Daniel Claudino

Bio

Daniel received his bachelor's degree in Chemistry from University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He then moved to University of Florida, where he received a PhD in Chemical Physics, with emphasis on development and software implementation of theoretical models in quantum chemistry. He held a position as Postdoctoral Researcher at Virginia Tech, where he continued performing research on quantum chemistry, and started working on the interface between quantum chemistry and quantum computing.

At ORNL, Daniel works on the software development of libraries that will enable large-scale quantum-classical heterogeneous computations targeting quantum simulations of interest in quantum chemistry. He is also interested in other areas in physical sciences, such as quantum and condensed matter physics and novel materials, where related approaches can be applied as well as new algorithmic avenues pertinent to quantum simulations of such problems.
