Manjunath Gorentla Venkata

Bio

Manjunath Gorentla Venkata is a research scientist in Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Computer Science and Mathematics Division. His area of expertise is programming models and network (communication) libraries for high-performance computing (HPC) systems. He has researched, designed, and developed a number of novel and high-performing communication middleware for HPC systems, including Cray (XT, XK7, XE) and InfiniBand systems. Dr. Gorentla Venkata has published numerous peer-reviewed research articles in this area, and contributed to various international standards. He is the recipient of 2015 R&D 100 award for his contributions to the CORE-Direct technology. He is a senior member of IEEE. His additional roles include leading the Programming Languages and Models team at ORNL, and serving as a secretary of the OpenSHMEM specification committee.
