Bio
Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, I am a graduate of the University of Tennessee, where I obtained Bachelor of Science degrees in both Physics and Mathematics.
After graduation, I took a job as a research associate for the Computer Science and Mathematics Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where I participated on projects ranging from nuclear energy to quantum information. My primary position was as lead software developer for a project tasked with developing a simulator for adiabatic quantum computation. Additionally, I worked on the development of the highly successful NEAMS Integrated Computational Environment (NiCE) and a simulator for nuclear fuel reprocessing.
I completed my Masters of Science degree in Physics at Virginia Tech in May of 2014, where my thesis was on the effects of vibrational excitations on electron transport across single-molecule magnets.
I am currently employed as a Research Staff Scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the Computer Science Research Group. My research interests lie in the modeling and simulation of novel physical systems, specifically related to quantum information and computing, and condensed matter physics. I am interested in the application of advanced software engineering methodologies to the development of those simulations.
